Very tasty! The hummus can be better, but the chicken skewers were fantastic, and the truffle mac-n-cheese was incredible! Good service too.
Nothing impressive for this place. The food came out slow and was not impressive at all judging by the above average prices and I am very easy to impress.
Really tasty food; italian, greek and lebanese influences. Fresh ingredients, fast service and friendly staff. Recommended!
The best place to eat Mediterranean food in NYC.The staff is always joyful especially the owner. If you’re looking for a great time in NYC and you want to feel immersed into the real Mediterranean vibe, this is the perfect place for you.
Fantastic food, and very friendly staff! Specially the girl from Cratia (forgot her name). I wasnt sure which wine I wanted to drink so she brought over my top choices for a quick taste and provided great recommendations. The zucchini cake, branzino and lamb chops were amazing! Will definitely go back soon
Superb setting in its lighting, space arrangement and the neighborhood the restaurant is sitting in. Staffs are friendly and welcoming. Foods are properly cooked and served in a desirable way but it's hard to erase the feeling that everything seems to be slightly over-priced.
The food was great, awesome dinner, the ideal NewYork Soho experience. The service was TOP! Armando was fun and a great great server!
The apps were really good
Get the ribeye sandwich it's Soo good!!!
So, so good!!! Delicious, unique flavor combinations in a quaint, tiny neighborhoody restaurant. There's usually a wait due to the teeny size, but it's so worth the wait. Pizzas are on the small side, so we just order more pizzas to make up for that. Problem solved.
What a place, what food, what good wines !!! good staff also.
Amazing tapas, great wine and FUN friendly service. Tiny space so be ready to get cozy.
Service and food was excellent we had a blast!
Good authentic restaurant with nice staff and high quality food
Go for happy hour! Cheap drinks and snacks. Cozy atmosphere. Good service.
The place is good.. some of the seats are too comfortable and fun for a group of 5. It was a bit lower than it should have been.
5 star quality Menu & Service.Reserve yourself a dining experience.
Avocado toast with the poached eggs was great.
Pretty average. Food was good but not amazing, I recommend the lamb brochette or the bruschetta. The coffee refill wasn’t actually a refill and they charged me for 2 coffees which never happened to me in NYC... the salads were not that great. The main good thing about this place is that it’s usually not too crowded so pretty chill :)
The mushroom pizza is the bomb! Octopus and baba ganoush were not bad as well. A bit pricey for the amount of food.
It's cozy, so I wouldn't try to do a group dinner here, but great for date night. Service is really attentive and friendly. We had a reservation and got a table right by the window, but we were told that another reservation was coming in an hour and a half. This was fine because the service and food were pretty quick and we actually never felt rushed.
We popped in to grab a quick brunch. It was well meaning, but very ordinary. The service was good. The food did take quite a while and it wasn't that busy. They serve a little complimentary mezze with tired winter tomatoes and olives. Nice gesture, but tasteless tomatoes are not really worth serving even for free. They brought out the side dish before the main dishes. They make a decent scalloped potato. I wanted my eggs to not be overcooked on the egg skillet, but they said it couldn't be done so I ordered the steak and eggs. It came with a salad and some sort of pesto-chimichurri sauce. It was ok.The omelette was good.
Great service. The mushroom and truffle flatbread pizza was the best thing. Octopus app and babaganoush were also really good. The Manti app was forgettable. Cocktails were tasty but pricey and not that strong.
Hard to say how much I loved this place! Located in one of the nicest areas of SoHo. The atmosphere in the evening is so cozy in here, reminding me of some of my favorite spots in Paris. The service was amazing. Had the best rosé in a long time. I'd described their food as Mediterranean-american fusion cuisine which does not lack creativity (try the Truffle mac n cheese).
Love this place. I always come for the consistent happy hr. Good food, servers are great. No complaints.
We went on the Balzem website to make a reservation. There was open availability the whole night so we decided to just walk over without the rez. We came in and were greeted by Briget. The restaurant and bar were empty. Bridget told us we can be seated but need to promise to vacate in 90 minutes because the table was "reserved". We offered to sit at the bar but were told they were all reserved. We decided to stay but felt very rushed and were treated rudely by Bridget the whole meal. Food was ok, and it took more than 30 min to get a refill on our drink, surprising considering there was such a rush to leave. Very disappointing and the negative attitude was not warranted.
Very tasty Mediterranean food with lovely intimate cozy ambiance. The service is very pleasant and friendly too. I wasn't as happy about the fact that most of main entrees seemed a bit overpriced to me (especially for Mediterranean).
We loved this place. Literally spent almost 3 hours in here drinking and eating all their appetizers. The waiter was very helpful and nice. We had a great time!
Small place but great atmosphere. The Greek/Turkish dishes we had were amazingly tasty.
Definitely one of the best spots in the city. I've been to Balzem several times and everything on the menu is absolutely delicious. I always take friends and family here when they are visiting and everyone loves it. The environment is nice and not too loud nor crowded. The staff here is very friendly and takes care of anything you may need. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who visits the city.
Great serendipity! Chose it because of the number of high reviews and it was a thousand points that night taurant on an early summer evening. Open air view of the street, busy with good people and good conversation, flowers on the table, delicious chicken and steak brochette, wonderful service, and all in all a highlight! I highly recommend it!
Amazing food, wine, ambiance, and service. We got the mushroom truffle flat bread and the lamb brochettes for dinner, and everything was fantastic. Definitely coming here again.
Decent Mediterranean spot - the tapas are great, we had the breakfast platter, the fruit platter, the burrata, the spicy feta, the artichoke dip and the Mac and cheese. Barring the spicy feta, the dishes were delicious and fairly filling without being loaded. Servers are nice and welcoming.Went for their outdoor dining - great food and service. Highly recommend the octopus and the shrimp appetizers!
Great bar. Bartenders are super nice. Great beer.
The steak and eggs is actually a plate of eggs with some steak fingers on the side.... they should've asked me how I prefer my eggs cause I prefer them scrambled while they served it Sunnyside up. On top of that, my girl found a plastic casing in her soup!
Fairly certain I got food poisoning here. The lighting was so dim our party must have dropped at least 3 forks. While I should have read the reviews and been more selective for a large group, there just wasn’t enough space on the table. Will be staying away from Mediterranean food for a while...
Good food, warm atmosphere
Their food for the most part is yummy. Ambience is intimate and really calming. I had the Artichoke dip and it was really tasty. I enjoyed it a lot. I had the Shrimp Carnival as well but I felt like it could have been better. There was nothing amazing about the dish at all. The custmer service was pretty great though. Very nice servers.
Solid mediterranean. The kabobs are a draw for me here.
We went just for drinks. Great wine and love the interior decor/vibes but the terrible service bumped this down to 3 stars.
Very cozy place. Although the dinner menu ( small plates) wasn’t too fascinating(not many options to choose from). Def a unique menu. Liked their zucchini pancakes. The shrimp dish was a show stealer.. it’s a must do dish. They have a great wine list. The server talked very fondly of their desserts. We were all full so couldn’t try but I am assuming that their desserts are great 👍
Nice place to spend time with my wife I definitely recommend it
Amazing quality! Fresh ingredients. You can taste every bite!! Can't wait to go back!! A little scary to say but it's the best pizza I've ever had. My friend agrees!
This review is only for the 2 amazing cocktails we ordered at this place, one with a scotch base and the other with Vodka. I don't remember the names of either, but they were listed as a daily special at the bar, and both drinks had lime and cayenne pepper in it. They tasted absolutely delicious and had some serious punch in it.
This is not a personal favourite as there r very few vegetarian food options.Overall the food taste was average so I would avoid going there again!
Cozy place, has outdoor sitting at the front. We had octopus, zucchini pancakes, turkish manti, all were delicious. Portions are not so big and prices not that low, but good overall.
I love the food... I tried the hummus and the octopus, it was amazing... I’ll come back for sure
Always come from time to time... Chicken tavern and the lentils soup is the best
A nice SOHO restaurant/bar with extensive list of wines. For a summer hangout in NYC, good as can get.
Cute Mediterranean place. Quick service. Not too loud
